Consuelo M. Young, 96, of Brownsville, Texas passed away at Valley Regional Medical Center on Friday, Nov. 08, 2017.
Chelo, as she was affectionately known to all, was a born in Cd. Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She came to Brownsville as a young girl and lived here the rest of her life. Chelo owned the Mexico Theater and worked at Walgreen's Drug Store in downtown Brownsville for over 40 years. Chelo was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her
family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.
Chelo is preceded in death by her husband, David Young; her parents, Carolota and Cipriano Martinez; 4 sisters: Minerva Barron, Trinidad Chapa, Fanny Martinez, and Carlota Martinez; and her only brothers, Cipriano Martinez Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings: Elisa M. Roussett, Enrique Martinez, Gracie M. (Johnny) Pineda, Irma Saucedo, and Robert Martinez along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and numerous extended family members.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 11th in the East Chapel at Darling Mouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the Holy Rosary scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. A Chapel Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
