Dale Boyd Budde Rule passed away peacefully at his home on May 1, 2009.
He was born January 27, 1930 in Hereford, TX. He moved to Willacy County in 1946 and married Lukardis Doolie Ernst on August 26, 1948. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage.
He owned and operated Rule Oil Company in San Perlita until 1968 and then worked for Baroid Chemical Company until his retirement in 1985 in Port Isabel, TX. He remained active, along with his wife, owning and operating Doolies Paint Shack in Port Isabel until moving to Brownsville in 1995. He worked as a Master Framer for Michaels until his recent illness.
He is survived by his loving wife, three sons, Budde Dean Linda, Brooks Boyd Susan, and Bradley Dale Rule, one daughter, Belinda Lea McManus, eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and three sisters and his son-in-law, Scott McManus.
Visitation will be held Sunday, May 3, 2009 from 6 to 8p.m. Services will be held on Monday, May 4, at 10a.m., in the Chapel of Darling-Mouser with Pastor Greg Boone officiating. Burial will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kevin Rule, Kelby Rule, Koby Rule, Keely Rule, Kaleb Rule, and Lucas McManus.
