BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Dalila M. Flores, was born on March 31, 1931 in Brownsville, Texas. Surrounded by her family with love and prayers, she entered into the Lord’s presence, on Friday, the 18th of October 2024, at the age of 93.
Dalila was a lifelong resident of Brownsville who graduated from Brownsville High School. She worked at Edelstein’s Furniture Store as a Credit Manager for 50 years and attended El Buen Pastor First United Methodist Church. Reading her Bible, traveling, and spending time with family and friends were her favorite pastimes. With her unselfish love and a beautiful spirit towards everyone, she became the matriarch of the Mora family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria Cruz Lambert and Jose Julio Mora; a son, Eddie A. Flores; brothers Gamaliel, Nephtali, and Aramis Mora; and by her sister, Omega Sosa.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Vahdani (Kambiz); daughter-in-law, Elisa Flores; her siblings, Bethsaida Juarez, Omar Mora (Sofia), Reina Mora, Linda Palacios (Armando), and Neri Mora Hinojosa; brother-in-law, Pime Sosa; sister-in-law, Amy Mora; six grandchildren Norma Anguiano, Nelda Escobar (Marcos), Nadine Escobar, Nicole Dalila Alvarez, Christopher Vahdani (Kate), and Lauren Vahdani; and ten great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, the 9th of November 2024 between the hours of ten o'clock in the morning and twelve noon, with a Chapel Service to begin at half past eleven o'clock in the morning within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.
Honored to serve as her pallbearers will be Chris Vahdani, Alexander Escobar, Gama Mora, Fred Hinojosa, Adam Hinojosa, and John Reyes. Honorary pallbearers are Kambiz Vahdani, Norma Anguiano, Eduardo Escobar, Pime Sosa, Trinidad Cantu, and Bob Juarez.
At the conclusion of services, the family invites you to attend an informal gathering of family and friends to continue in the celebration of life and memories of our beloved Dalila, at a place to be announced during the service.
