Mr. Daniel G. Maldonado, 63, our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into the glory of his eternal life on Saturday, December 29, 2012 after a brave and valiant battle against cancer at his residence in Brownsville surrounded by his loving family.
Born in San Benito, Texas, Danny had been a resident of Brownsville for numerous years. After graduating from high school, Danny enlisted in the US Army and served our country proudly during the Vietnam War. After his discharge, he returned home where he attended college and obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Danny then began a twenty year career as a dedicated teacher with the BISD, teaching Texas History at Cummings Middle School where he inspired and motivated the students that he taught.
Danny taught those around him how to be generous, loving, and selfless. He loved being around his family and spending time with them. He was an avid pool player who hustled a game or two during his lifetime. He also enjoyed watching boxing and listening to rocknroll. Dannys wit brought joy and laughter to those around him. Danny was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known him.
Danny was preceded in death by his father, Alejo Maldonado a sister, Linda Delgado and two brothers, Pedro and Reymundo Maldonado.
