Diego Garcia Iii

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Diego Garcia III, 44, passed away at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas, on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

Diego, was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville.  Diego touched the lives of our communities youth as a History teacher for the BISD for several years. Diego also maintained a blog, The Brownsville Beacon.

Diego was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by his family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known him.

Diego was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eloisa V. and Alfonso Peña; and a maternal uncle, Albert Peña.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Eulalia “Lala” Garcia; his father, Diego Garcia Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and extended family members.

In accordance with Diego’s wishes, he will be cremated.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September, 14, 2021, from 12 Noon to 7 pm with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
