Dolores G. Trevio passed away in her sleep Wednesday morning, December 31, 2008 in Dallas, Texas.
She was born in Dallas on November 12, 1921 to Rita and Ignacio Gonzales. She and her sisters Rose Canela, Mary Gonzales, Pat Verver, and Lupe Ruiz were proud to call Dallas home. Marriage to Manuel Trevio led to may moves away from Dallas due to Army life during World War II and Manuels career in aviation and banking, but Dallas and also Brownsville, Texas would enter their lives again and again.
Dolores stories of growing up and working in Dallas, home making in various parts of the country, mothering her children and friendships short and long lived were testimony of a life of adventures, struggles, hardships, love, and happiness.
She is survived by her children Jeane Lair and Manuel Trevio Jr. both born in Dallas and Robert Trevio born in Brownsville; her sisters Pat Verver and Lupe Ruiz; her grandchildren: Tracy Lanier, Cathy Hathaway, Christine Trevio, Robert Trevio, Anita Trevio, and Manuel Trevio; and her great-grandchildren: Taylor Lanier, Tanner Lanier, William Hathaway, and Katelyn Hathaway.
The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at St. Marys Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum at Buena Vista Burial Park where she will be placed next to Manuel.
