ALTO, NM. – Donald Warren Bryant passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, the 18th of June 2024, at the age of 70, on South Padre Island, Texas. Don was born June 28, 1953, in Houston, Texas to T.L. and Marilyn Bryant. Don graduated from Holmes High School in San Antonio in 1971. He attended The University of Texas San Antonio before becoming a PGA Club Professional. Don spent his career as a golf professional at Snyder Country Club, San Angelo Country Club, Quicksand Golf Course, Cimarron Country Club before finishing his career at Alto Lakes Golf and Country Club.

Don married the love of his life Lucia Chandler on February 7, 1993. Together they share a daughter, Kristine Bryant of San Antonio, and a son, Adam Rogers of Alto. They were also blessed with two grandchildren, Paige and Lucas Rogers.

Don will be remembered for his love of family, bird hunting in West Texas, bay fishing on South Padre Island and loyalty to the Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. He was a beloved member of each of his golf communities and touched countless lives with his patience and kindness to all.

Don is survived by his wife Lucia Bryant; daughter, Kristine Bryant; son, Adam Rogers and his fiancée Jessica Gibson; grandchildren, Paige and Lucas Rogers, and Olivia Fletcher; brothers, Steve Bryant (Becky) and Ralph Bryant (Alyce); sister, Susan Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Don’s life will be planned at a later date in Alto, New Mexico, where friends and family can remember a life well lived.

In lieu of floral arrangements, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Sea Turtle, Inc. on South Padre Island, Texas, in honor of Don’s legacy of caring and support for causes close to his heart.
