SAN BENITO, TEXAS - Dora R. Borrego, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Tuesday, the 10th of September 2024 at her son's residence surrounded by her loving family. She was 82 years of age.
Born on December 1, 1941, Dora was a lifetime resident of San Benito. She graduated from Los Fresnos High School and was a LFHS cheerleader. Dora was a Social Security federal government employee, retiring with thirty-eight years of service. She also worked in voter elections in Cameron County.
Dora dedicated her life to the Lord and regularly attended church at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in El Ranchito, Texas. Her favorite pastimes included playing loteria with her family and friends and watching the Dallas Cowboys as an avid fan.
Preceding Dora in death was her husband, Modesto "Moe" Garza Borrego, Jr.; her daughter, Martha Elena Borrego Wadhwani; her parents, Hernan Enrique Rodriguez and Manuela Guajardo Rodriguez; and her siblings Tomas G. Rodriguez (Rosario), Sulema Rodriguez Zarate (Norberto+), and Hernan Juan Rodriguez, Jr. (Gloria).
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her son, Marco Antonio Borrego (Marcy); her brother, Juan Hernan Rodriguez (Maria Idalia+); her grandchildren Marco Antonio Borrego, Jr. (Ashley), Modesto Adrian Borrego, Marissa Alyssa Borrego, Manuel Alberto Borrego, Marlena Alexyss Borrego, Christopher Aaron Wadhwani, and Alina Anil Wadhwani; her great-grandchildren, Renee Brianna Borrego, Aaron Marcus Borrego, Mila Danielle Borrego, Christian Wadhwani, and Brenden Wadhwani; as well as her numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, the 20th of September 2024 between the hours of twelve noon and nine o'clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Friday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at eleven o o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 21st of September 2024 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, 24380 US-281, El Ranchito, Texas. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Rodriguez Cemetery, Hernan Rodriguez Jr. Road, El Ranchito, Texas.
Honored to serve as her pallbearers are Marco Antonio Borrego, Jr., Modesto Adrian Borrego, Manuel Borrego, Christopher Aaron Wadhwani, Modesto Alejandro Ayala, Oscar Zarate, Miguel Del Bosque, and Lino Daniel Gonzales.
Honorary pallbearers are Jaime Rodriguez, Hernan Rodriguez III, Tomas Rodriguez, Jr., Reynaldo Borrego, Rene Borrego, George Edward Borrego+ (Victoria), Carlos Borrego, Robert Borrego+, Juan Hernan Rodriguez, John Rodriguez, Jr., and Ronnie Canales.
In lieu of floral arrangements and customary remembrances, contributions in her memory may be directed to Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
