Dora Garcia Lopez

SAN ANTONIO, TX. - Dora Garcia Lopez entered into eternal rest on Thursday, the 19th of October 2023 in the comfort of her San Antonio residence. She was ninety-five years of age.

Dora was born May 8, 1928 in Raymondville, Texas, daughter of Santos Garcia and Estefana Carmona. A devout Catholic, her life was devoted to God and she served at Good Shepherd Catholic Church for many years.

Preceding Dora in death was her husband, Brijido Lopez; her father, Santos Garcia; her mother, Estefana Carmona; and her step-father, Guadalupe Mata.

Survivors include her children Luis Lopez (Rosie), Leonel Lopez (Odie), Yolanda DeAnda (Candelario Jr.), Ismael Lopez (Sylvia), Leticia Lopez (Jackie Sandlin+), and Sylvia Lopez (Edward Breidenbach); in addition to twenty-seven grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, the 24th of October 2023 between the hours of twelve noon and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Tuesday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ten o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, the 25th of October 2023 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2645 Tulipan Street, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.

Honored to serve has her pallbearers will be Eric Lopez, Eddie Lopez, Samuel Breidenbach, Raul Rodriguez, Cande DeAnda III, and Martin Carr.
