Dora King Petrarca, 82, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 9, 2009.
Dora King Petrarca was born to Joe King and Agnus Sanchez King of Brownsville, TX. She spoke often of her experiences growing up at Snakeville. Her volunteering at U.S.O. dances in WW II. She was married to her loving husband, Alfred Petrarca, Jr. for 62 years. However, she was known best for her exceptional sewing skills. She was very proud of the Wedding dresses she had sewn. As a mother and as grandmother, she so proudly made dresses, dolls and doll clothes for all her children and grandchildren. To know Dora King Petrarca was to know a woman of unconditional love for her family. She believed in putting her family first as her family has put her first. She will live on in our hearts and in our memories of her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe King and Agnus Sanchez King, her husband, Alfredo Petrarca, Jr. and her brother, Robert King Bobby.
Left to eternally cherish her memory are her children, Alfred Isabel Petrarca III, Joe Alma Petrarca, Louis Petrarca, Edward Maggie Petrarca and Patricia Gene Ruiz, all of Brownsville; her siblings, Joe Lydia King, Jr., Josie Duncleberg, Martin King and Nellie Smith; 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. today, Wednesday, March 11, 2009 in the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, March 12, 2009 in the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Petrarca, Alfred Petraca,III, Eddie Petrarca, Paul Petrarca, Zeke Petrarca and Peter Petrarca.
