Dora P. Salinas, 78, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, and aunt entered into the glory of her eternal life on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Dora who was born in San Benito, Texas, had been a longtime resident of Brownsville. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who gave her all for her family. Dora was a faithful and devoted employee with the BISD for over 30 years in the Food Service Department. Dora was very proud of the fact that when she retired in 2000, she did so without ever having missed a day of work. Dora was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by those fortunate to have known her.
Dora was preceded in death by her mother, Belia C. Gomez a sister, Lydia Saldaa and a brother, Rey Gomez.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her husband of 62 years, Santiago B. Salinas her children: Blanca E. Tito Valero, Imelda S. Reynaldo Garcia, Irma L. Gilbert Castillo, and Santiago Salinas Jr. the grandchildren that were the apple of her eye: Laura Ryan Soule, Josue Melida Castillo, Elisa Gerardo Trejo, Corina Castillo, Reynaldo Lyndsay Garcia Jr., Carlos Salinas, and Joshua Salinas four greatgrandchildren: Olivia Serna, Ryan Soule Jr., Lyla Trejo, and Lauryn Soule three sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. today, Thursday, December 27, 2012, with a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Doras grandchildren are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandmother.
