Doris Janet Salmon Stowe was born December 16, 1929 in Wink, Texas and passed away May 12, 2014. Doris grew up in Pampa, Texas and moved with her family to McAllen, Texas in 1946. She resided in Brownsville from 1970 until her death.
Doris graduated from McAllen High School and attended Baylor University. Her meticulous attention to detail led her to choose a career in bookkeeping. She worked for several accounting firms and was a 27 year employee of Valda S. Rispoli, CPA. She was proud to have worked fulltime through March 2014.
Doris leaves a legacy of kindness and friendship. She was a life long leaner and delighted in having had the opportunity to travel the United States and Europe. Doris had a wide circle of friends of all ages.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard M. Salmon and Lucile Smith Salmon, her brother, James M. Salmon, and her husband, Oscar L. Stowe.
She is survived by her son Michael L. Stowe Karen of Brownsville, nephew Christopher Salmon of Dallas, and numerous extended family members.
Her family gratefully thanks all Doris friends who kindly assisted her over the last few years.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 31st at 2:00 PM at DarlingMouser Funeral Home in Brownsville, Texas.
