Dorothy Mae Millhouse White passed from this earthly life on Sunday, June 10, after a lengthy illness. Born April 27, 1929 in Dixon, Illinois to Harry J. Millhouse and Ethel Mae Rhodes Millhouse, she attended public school in Dixon through 10th grade. She married Merlyn A. White on May 16, 1947, and the family moved to Brownsville, Texas in the early 1950s.

Born of hard working stock, Dorothy was no exception. Numerous jobs in Brownsville included Vannie Tilden Bakery, Minimax Supermarket, and HEB. Together with her husband she began developing White Mobile Park in 1970. Square dancing was one of the family passions. You could usually find Dorothy outside tending to her yard.

Survivors include her only daughter, Linda Mae White, of La Feria, Texas exhusband, Merlyn A White, of Canon City, CO numerous cousins dear cousin, Arlene Grobe, of Dixon, IL numerous nieces and nephews dear niece, Connie Selmi, of Rock Falls, IL.

Special thanks to at home caregivers, Joanne, Juan, Socorro, Rita, Pam, and Rhonda.

Safe Haven Hospice provided care for Dorothy the last 6 months of her earthly life. Thanks to Rosie, Gracie, Cleo, Chana, Rosa, Leo, Baldimar, and Mrs. Sharma.

Dr. Baleesh Sharma and Dr. Yasmin Maldonado loved Dorothy deeply and advised her concerning treatment for her medical conditions.

As Dorothy phrased it, she spent the last six days of her earthly life at her last stop, Sunshine Haven, Olmito, Texas. At Sunshine Haven she was cared for by Maria, Delma, and Mayte. Special thanks to director, Elizabeth Shull.

Visitation was held Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at DarlingMouser. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser, Rev. Lenny Spicer, officiating. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
