Dr. Martin Farias, III, 35, of Kingsville, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, April 12, 2008 in Corpus Christi surrounded by his loving family.
The human spirit is stronger than anything that happens to it. Martins spirit is strong and has touched his family by loving them; he touched his friends by true friendship and his students by teaching them.
Dr. Farias was born in Brownsville, Texas. He was proud of where he came from and worked hard to continue his career in Science and Academics. He gave a great example of how being a Hispanic from South Texas The Valley accomplishing a dream in Health Science and making a difference in everyones life. He was a leader in Science and a great mentor to all Hispanics being educated.
He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandparents, Juan and Maria Luisa Wicha Zarate and his paternal grandfather, Martin Farias, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 6 years, Valerie Farias of Kingsville, four children, Haley, John, Gianna and Isabella, his mother, Mary Lou Mayorga, his father, Martin Farias, Jr., his brother, Danny Christy Farias, his sister, Janine Mario Maldonado, his maternal grandparents, Daniel and Francis Ramirez, paternal grandmother, Rosa Farias and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, April 15, at 1p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7p.m., in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10a.m., Wednesday, April 16, at St. Luke Catholic Church with burial to follow to Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Salazar, Devin Sierra, Jonathan Fernandez, Vincent Fernandez, Marcos Garcia and Michael Cantu.
