Elaine Dolores Jeffries Webster

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Elaine Dolores Jeffries Webster peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, the 13th of December 2023 in the comfort of her Brownsville residence surrounded by her family. She was ninety-four years of age.

Elaine was born on October 30, 1929 on the Island of Guanaja, the Bay Islands of Honduras where she grew up, one of six children of the late Richard Alexander Jeffries and Cora Beulah Haylock Jeffries. She was a registered nurse (RN) for numerous years and worked in New York before relocating to Brownsville, Texas where she served as House Supervisor of the original Valley Regional Medical Center. Elaine then moved to Florida for several years, before returning to Brownsville in 2012.

Preceding Elaine in death was her husband of thirty years, Stanley Alfred Webster; her parents, Richard Alexander Jeffries and Cora Beulah H. Jeffries; her siblings Gabriel Augustus Jeffries, Virgil Murphy Jeffries, Richard Alexander "Alex" Jeffries, Jr., and Elsa Everne Jeffries Liggio; and her nephew, Murphy Virgil Jeffries.

Survivors include her brother, Elliott D. Jeffries of New Jersey, and her nephews and nieces Eddie D. Jeffries, Kevin Jeffries, Craig Jeffries, Edsel Jeffries, Royce Jeffries, Linda A. Bodden, Tanya Flores, Verna Mencillas, Jackie Estrada, and Janey Powell.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, the 18th of December 2023 between the hours of twelve noon and nine o’clock at night within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

A presentation ceremony by the Rio Grande Valley Nurse Honor Guard will begin at half past eleven o'clock in the morning on Tuesday, the 19th of December 2023, with a chapel service to follow at twelve noon. Interment will then follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.
