Mr. Eleazar S. Longoria, 69, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Monday, October 8, 2012 at his residence in Brownsville, TX surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Longoria who was born in Rancho El Soliseo, Matamoros, Tamps., Mexico, had been a resident of Brownsville since 1988. He worked for Kemper Corp. as an insurance auditor up until his illness forced him into early retirement.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and watching baseball, his favorite sport. Mr. Longoria was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by those fortunate to have known him.
Mr. Longoria was preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Marcelina Longoria, three sisters, and one brother.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Maria Teresa C. Longoria his children: Eleazar C. Gabriela Longoria, Sandra Edith Adan Valenzuela, Isabel Victor Castillo, and Alvaro Ivan Donna Longoria ten grandchildren: Juliana Longoria, Adan Alejandro Valenzuela, Jimena Longoria, Karen and Karla Valenzuela, Diego and Adrian Castillo, Santiago and Brianna Medina, and Ivann Alejandro Longoria. He will also be missed by his two sisters, Ana Maria Julio Nevarez and Ernestina Simon Montelongo and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation and a rosary service were held yesterday at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. today, Wednesday, October 10th in the West Chapel at DarlingMouser. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. this afternoon at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Ave. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Mr. Longorias sons, Eleazar and Ivan his sonsinlaw, Adan Valenzuela and Victor Castillo together with Rodolfo Longoria and Beltran Garcia are honored to be serving as Mr. Longorias pallbearers. The member of the Club Internacional de Beisbolistas de Antao de MatamorosBrownsville, A.C. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
