Elia Cuevas, 95, of Brownsville, our beloved mother, motherinlaw, grandmother, greatgrandmother, greatgreatgrandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Sunshine Haven Hospice Facility in Olmito, Texas surrounded by her loving family.
Doa Elia was born on November 3, 1916 in Cd. Victoria, Tamps., Mexico one of 12 children. She had been a resident of Brownsville for numerous years.
Doa Elia was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Her family always came first and she was always there for everyone. She loved to sew and crochet and leaves behind many of the articles that she made. She especially loved spending time with her family. Doa Elia was greatly loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.
Doa Elia was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Cuevas Guillen and ten brothers and sisters.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her isa her only son, Carlos Cuevas Martinez and his wife Hortencia her grandchildren: Carlos Cuevas, Mario Alberto Cuevas, and Concepcion Cuevas 6 greatgrandchildren 1 greatgreatgrandson her brother, Efrain Martinez numerous nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m., Friday, November 18, 2011 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with a chapel service scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. this afternoon. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
