Mrs. Elida R. Garcia, 89, our beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by her loving family.
Doa Elida had been a resident of Brownsville for numerous years. She was a loving and devoted mother who gave her all for her family. Doa Elida was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her family and all those fortunate to have known her.
Doa Elida was preceded in death by her parents, Victoria V. Apolinar Ramirez her husband, Ramon R. Garcia four sisters: Juanita, Josefina, Carlota Esperanza two brothers: Jesus Valeriano a greatgranddaughter, Denise Lizette Zuniga, and a soninlaw, Conrado Zuniga Jr.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her children: Ramon Olga Garcia Jr., Mary Lou Zuniga, and Maricela Wilson twelve grandchildren: Michelle, Ramon III, Liz, Joel, Mimi, Benjamin, Sergio, Tammy, Larry, James, Michael, and Heather twenty greatgrandchildren two greatgreatgrandsons a sister, Maria Cuevas a brother, Natalio Ramirez and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013, at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Drive in Brownsville. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Ramon Garcia III, Joel, Benjamin, and Sergio Zuniga, and James and Larry Wilson are honored to be serving as pallbearers for their beloved grandmother. Her greatgrandchildren, Nathan Smith Jr., Allen and Jaime Zuniga will serve as honorary pallbearers.
