Elida Rosaura Gomez

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX. - Elida Rosaura Gomez entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, the 22nd of May 2024 in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was sixty-five years of age.

Elida was born on January 30, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio, daughter of the late Ruben Gomez, M.D. and Elida Gomez. She was a proud resident of Corpus Christi and Brownsville, Texas, and was a 1979 graduate of Homer Hanna High School. Elida worked as a provider in the healthcare industry, displaying wonderful abilities in caring for others. She brought joy and light into our lives, with her good-nature, radiant smile, and boundless curiosity. Elida was very compassionate, and loved caring for animals. Her family and pets were most important to her. She also loved to read and solve crossword puzzles. Elida had an incredible ability to reach others in a positive way. 

She is survived by her daughter, Rebekah; an older brother, Ruben (Betty) and their son James (Angela) and their children Joshua, Noel, Sydney, and James Cruz; younger siblings, Alejandra (Armando), Hector (Cynthia) and their son, Eduardo, Ruth (Robert) and their daughter, Destiny (Mike) and their children Penelope, Phoenix, and Preston, Dolores (Sergio) and their children Ezekiel and Zariah, and Rosana; and her closest cousins Dr. Elsa Von Schulenburg, Raul Heredia (Colleen) and their children Sebastian and Paloma, and Manuel H. Schulenberg (Erica) and their children Jacquelyn and Paolo.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 30th of May 2024 between the hours of eleven o'clock in the morning and nine o'clock at night, with the recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Thursday evening, immediately followed by a chapel service, within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Cremation will follow.
