Elizabeth Ann Vidos Gayman

Jesus, My Souls in Your Hands

And on Sunday, November 4, 2012, the angels came to take her soul to Heaven.

Liz was born in Morgan City, Louisiana on August 26, 1942, one of thirteen children. She lived most of her life in Brownsville.

Liz was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was a stayathome mom when the children were growing up and was active in many of their school and summertime activitiesPTA, cheerleaders, football, and anything she was asked to help with.

Holidays were always special times at their house and the Easter Bunny and Santa never disappointed anyone.

When the children grew up, she went to work at the family owned business and stayed active there until the last few months of her life.

Liz took great delight in her children and grandchildren and spent as much time as she could with them. She also loved to work in her yard and garden. She liked being outdoors and liked watching things grow. She especially liked watching the various birds, rabbits, and other animals that she and Joe fed daily and who called their yard home.

Liz and Joe were able to travel extensively, both here, in Mexico, and abroad, and those were times and trips they both enjoyed.

Liz loved being with friends, especially the Bunco group and the occasional card games and social times at home. For a long time she and one or two of her sisters and friends enjoyed going on yearly trip to Las Vegas.

Liz had a big heart and gave a helping hand many times to some who were in need, with no intention of being repaid and wanting those deeds to remain anonymous.

This gentle soul is now at rest.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Myrtle and John Vidos Sr. a daughter, Donna a son, Marc and her brothers: Frederick, Melvyn, John Jr., and Carl Vidos.

Liz is survived by her husband of 52 years, Carl Joe Gayman her sons: Wayne Melody and Joseph Gracie a daughter, Carla Phil Snowden and her grandchildren: Ashley Gayman, and Jennifer, Andrew, and Rebekah Snowden. Liz is also survived by her brothers: James, Jerry Evelyn and Wayne Thelma Vidos her sisters: Rose Marie Broussard, Mary Ann Ren Prado, Betty J.B. Coulter, Lucy Wilkinson, and Faith Bobby Boynt and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7th, 2012, in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Msgr. Bert Diaz will be leading a rosary service at 1:00 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Lance Hostetter. All services will conclude at that time and committal services will be private.

Wayne Gayman, Joseph Gayman, Bill Gulley, Jonathan Gulley, Bill Wilkinson, and Andrew Snowden are honored to be serving as Lizs pallbearers. James, Jerry, and Wayne Vidos will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Lizs family would like to say thank you to the many people who sent food, flowers, and helped in any way they could these past few months. Special thanks go to her sistersinlaw, Pamela Vidos and Irene Gulley for the daily loving and compassionate care they so willing and lovingly provided for her.
