Elsy Leonor "Tachy" Izo

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Elsy Leonor Izo “Tachy” was born on May 20, 1953 and passed away on Saturday, the 27th of July 2024. She was born in Merida, Yucatan, lived in Saudi Arabia with her husband, and settled in Brownsville, Texas.

Elsy was a colorful woman and was always straight to the point, she loved being with her family and spent her life raising her daughter and then was a main figure in the life of her grandson, she really wanted to see him graduate from university but will be watching him in his endeavors from above. Elsy was extremely creative and her imagination was one of her greatest gifts. She was a great cook, amazing baker, and crafted beautiful headpieces for Bellas Artes Academy.

Elsy loved socializing with her friends and would go on her lunch dates as often as she could with her bestie. She loved being loved.

Elsy lived her life the best she knew how and left this earth hoping that her friends and family would find safety in this messed up world. While our hearts mourn the loss, we shall take comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering.

Elsy is survived by her daughter, Cheriese Izo; her grandson, Tommy Izo; her sister, Nidia Hausman; her brother, Juan Burgos; and her nephews Christopher Hausman, Max Burgos, and Alfredo Burgos. She also has extended family in Mexico that will miss her dearly.
