Mrs. Elvira Leal Gonzalez, 97, of San Pedro, entered into eternal rest at Brownsville Nursing Rehab Center in Brownsville on Tuesday, December 4, 2007. Born in Cruillas, Tamaulipas, Mexico, she was a member of Templo Emmanuel Assembly of God Church in Brownsville.
Mrs. Gonzalez was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Bartola Leal; two brothers, Juan Leal and Jesus Leal; and by two sisters, Genoveva Leal Villarreal and Maria Cantu.
Left to mourn and forever cherish her memory are her children, Antonio L. Gonzalez Magdalena of Nogales, AZ, Guadalupe Avila Refugio of Cashion, AZ, Manuela G. Garcia Jose and Candelario Gonzalez Linda both of Brownsville and Argelio Gonzalez Consuelo of Denmark, TN; one brother, Israel Leal of Queen Creek, AZ; twenty-three grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a prayer at 7 p.m. in the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home today, Friday, December 7, 2007.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Templo Emmanuel Assembly of God Church, 845 W. Levee St. Everyone is asked to meet at the church. The body will lie in state at the church as of 9 a.m., so there will not be a procession from the funeral home to the church.
Burial will follow at the San Pedro Cemetery in San Pedro.
Pallbearers will be Michael Avila, Moses Gonzalez, Joel Garcia, Gabriel Gonzalez, Argelio Gonzalez, Jr. and Joey Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Gonzalez, Alex Smith, Joshua Gonzalez and Jonathan Gonzalez.
