Elvira Lee Santana, entered into eternal rest to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, December 26, 2010, where she joined her husband, Enrique Lee Mancha, her mother, Bartola Gamez, and her granddaughter, Michelle Vera.
Elvira always said she was a very rich woman because she had five wonderful children which were her greatest joy. She worked at the Sadlers Drive InnTumble Inn in Brownsville as a carhop, cook, cashier, manager and finally became owner for a combined total of forty years. She traveled through out Mexico and the U.S. She was proud to become a U.S. citizen at the age of seventyfive and voted in the presidential elections that same year. Even though she taught herself to read, write, and speak English, her greatest accomplishment were her children which she was very proud of.
Survivors include her children, Olga Lee Hinojosa, Gloria Lee Pete Gonzalez, Ana Lee Trinidad, Henry Sherrie Lee, and Elvira Terry Perry ten grandchildren nine greatgrandchildren one greatgreatgranddaughter numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend and caregiver, Gregoria Goya Castaneda.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 10a.m., and continue until 9p.m., with the family greeting extended family and friends from 4 to 8p.m., at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 6:30p.m., Wednesday, December 29, at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12noon, Thursday, December 30, at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with burial to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
