Elvira Campos Pereida

BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Elvira Campos Pereida entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, the 17th of May 2023 in the comfort of her Brownsville residence surrounded by her loving family. She was ninety-eight years of age.

Elvira enjoyed being with her children and she loved to be surrounded by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding Elvira in death was her husband, Ynez Pereida; her children Gilberto Pereida, Rosalinda Garza (Roberto), Elvira P. Flores (Juan), and Juan Pereida (Olivia); her grandchildren, Pablo Treviño, Jr. and Aristo Treviño; her parents; Felipe Campos and Viviana Gomez Campos; her brothers Aniseto Campos, Abelardo Campos, Roberto Campos, and Felipe Campos; and her sisters Maria Angelita Campos, Enriqueta Campos Rodriguez, and Virginia Campos Rubio.

Suvivors include her children Alicia P. Mesa (Alfredo), Guadalupe P. Moya (Ramon), Gila Trevino (Pablo), Dominga P. Aramburo (Juan+), Irma P. Grimes (Kelly), Inez Pereida (Ruth), Jesus Pereida (Norma), Martin Pereida, Felipe Pereida, and Abelardo Pereida (Patricia); her thirty-five grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Raul Campos and Arturo Campos; her sister, Maria Guadalupe Campos Ramirez; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, the 21st of May 2023 between the hours of one o'clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to begin at five o'clock Sunday afternoon within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

Visiting hours will resume on Monday, the 22nd of May 2023 between the hours of eleven o’clock in the morning and nine o'clock at night within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at two o'clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, the 23rd of May 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 602 E. Elizabeth Street, Brownsville. Interment will then follow, via an escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road.
