BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Emilio C. Peña entered into eternal rest on Saturday, the 7th December 2019 in McAllen, Texas surrounded by family. He was eighty-two years old.
Emilio was born in Brownsville, Texas on the 11th of October 1937 to his parents, Agapito and Feliciana C. Peña. He later met the love of his life, Angelica, whom he married on the 7th of September 1957. The following year, he began his career with the Coca-Cola Company which spanned over the next forty-five years, retiring in 2002. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and archery, and collected various trophies from his adventures. Emilio was the rock of his family, providing for not only them, but for his friends and those in need as well. He will always be remembered as a kind-hearted soul who was compassionate and loving towards those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
His parents, Agapito and Feliciana C. Peña; sons, Emilio Peña, Jr. and Jesus Peña (Gloria); and siblings, Lidia Hernandez (Tomas +) and Abelardo Peña, preceded him in death.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of over sixty-two years, Angelica G. Peña; their daughter, Elisa P. Lopez; grandchildren Andrea Cortez (Ruben), Jesus Peña, Jr., Christine Ruiz (Ramiro), Erica Peña (Carlos), Stephany Lopez (Orlando), Micheal Lopez, and Emilio JR Padron; great-grandchildren Ryan, Kristen, Jesse III, Nathan, Jeremy, Victoria, Ramiro, Angel, Layla, Eric, Anthony, and Hailey; and by his brothers, Isais Peña (Hermelinda) and Joel Peña (Mary). Also surviving him are numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of many friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 12th of December 2019 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o'clock Thursday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
A chapel service will commence on Friday, the 13th of December 2019 at ten o’clock in the morning. Interment will immediately follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, Texas 78526.
