BROWNSVILLE, TX. – BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Epitacio V. Ramirez entered into eternal rest on Sunday, the 12th of February 2023, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. He was eighty-eight years of age.
Epitacio was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 4, 1934, son of Jose and Guadalupe Villafranca Ramirez. Right out of school, Epitacio served a short period in the United States Navy. He was then a truck driver for many years and then worked as a control room operator with the Brownsville Public Utilities Board until his retirement. Epitacio also owned and operated Jessica & Brothers Mobile Home Park in Brownsville, Texas, since its inception in 1980. In his spare time, he was a homebody and enjoyed spending time with his family and watching TV. Some of his favorite TV shows included The Price Is Right, Gunsmoke, and several Old Westerns. Epitacio always had a sweet tooth and savored his coffee and cookies.
Preceding Epitacio in death was his beloved wife, Mary Sheldon Ramirez; his parents, Jose and Guadalupe Villafranca; and his siblings Maria de Jesus Garcia (Jesus +), Jose “Pepe” Ramirez (Lydia +), and Jesus Maria Ramirez (Rosa).
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Dalia M. Ramirez; his children Epitacio S. Ramirez, Jr. (Elizabeth), Mike S. Ramirez (Tammy), Marcos S. Ramirez (Mary), David S. Ramirez (Gracie), and Jessica S. Ramirez; his grandchildren Nathan Ramirez (Alissa), Miranda Kupcikevicius (Matthew), Brianna Ramirez, Kathleen A. Ramirez, Sandy A. Ramirez (James), Andrew Ramirez, Samantha Ramirez, Zac Ramirez (Sara), Troy Ramirez, Austin Ramirez, Jonathan Ruiz, and Jovani Ruiz; his great-grandchildren, Joshua Sterling Kupcikevicius and Michael Alexander Ramirez; his brother, Guadalupe “Lupe” Ramirez; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, the 16th of February 2023 between the hours of five o’clock in the afternoon and nine o'clock at night, with a prayer service to begin at seven o'clock Thursday evening within the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
A Chapel Service will commence at nine o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 17th of February 2023. Interment with military honors will immediately follow, via an escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.
