BROWNSVILLE, TX. – Eric Arnoldo Valdez, 41, beloved father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Sunday, December 06, 2020 at his residence in Brownsville.
Eric was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. He attended Sharp Elementary, Central Middle School, Pace High School, and graduated with his Bachelor in Sociology and Psychology at the University of Texas at Brownsville. He was currently a social worker with Molina Healthcare and was a member of the Cameron County Conservatives, and American Outlaws Soccer Fan Club. Eric was a longtime parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church where he was a member of the choir and served as an Altar Server. His favorite pastime was caring for his dogs which he loved. If he could have, he would have rescued all of the dogs in the world. He was smart, kind, funny, and adventurous. He had a “No pasa nada” attitude that will forever be remembered.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Rosalinda C. Valdez and Jose V. Valdez, Sr.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him is his daughter, Karen E. Valdez (Adrian Chavarria); his siblings Jose “Joe” (Norma) Valdez, Jr., Lucia V. (Manuel) Martinez, Luis D. Valdez, and Elvia (Juan V. Barrientes) Perez; as well as his numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, friends, and his beloved dogs.
The Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 555 W. St. Francis Street, Brownsville, Texas 78520. Interment will immediately follow the memorial mass at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 McDavitt Boulevard, Brownsville, Texas 78521. There will be no formal procession from the church to the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Humane Society of Harlingen, 1106 Markowsky Avenue, Harlingen, Texas 78550, www.hshtx.org, (956) 425-7297.
