BROWNSVILLE, TX. - Esperanza Vasquez Torres entered into eternal rest on Monday, the 22nd of November 2021, at her residence in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by family in the comfort of her home at the age of eighty-six.
Esperanza was a devout Catholic that enlightened our lives every day. She loved to cook, travel, shop, and spend time with her loved ones. Her memory will be cherished by all those whose lives she touched.
Preceding Esperanza in death were her parents, Juan Vasquez and Margarita Gutierrez Vasquez; husband, Julian Torres; sisters Felicitas Martinez, Consuelo Chavez, Margarita Avila, Victoria Infante, and Refugia Chavez; and brother, Juan Vasquez.
Survivors include her daughters Ana Maria Solis (Rumaldo), Maria Luisa Higginbotham (Louis), Norma Ordaz (Ricardo), and Petra Torres; grandsons, David Torres and Rumaldo Solis III; granddaughters, Abigail Solis and Janice Morales; several great-grandchildren; sister, Ramona Limon; and numerous nephews and nieces.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff from Bee First Hospice Healthcare for the care and compassion they provided our dearest mother. We want to thank Father Rene Gaytan for the spiritual guidance to our mother and the family. We also would like to thank our relatives that called or visited our mother to provide comfort during her time with us.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, the 24th of November 2021, and Thursday, the 25th of November 2021, between the hours of eleven o’clock in the morning and nine o’clock at night, with a recitation of the holy rosary to begin at seven o’clock both Wednesday and Thursday evening within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at two o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 26th of November 2021, at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 1055 Military Road, Brownsville.
Committal services will follow, via an escorted procession, at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville.
