Estella Y Collazo

Estella Y. Collazo, 77, our beloved mother, motherinlaw, grandmother, sister, sisterinlaw, aunt, and freind entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

Estella was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved taking care of everyone in her family. Estella was a wonderful cook she also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime parishioner at Holy Family Catholic Church.

Estella was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.

Estella was preceded in death by her husband, Valentin R. Collazo Sr., her parents, Rosa and Enrique Rosas Sr., and a brother, Andres E. Rosas.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Estella are her children: Juanita Collazo, Valentin Laura R. Collazo Jr., and Saul Veronica E. Collazo the grandson that was the apple of her eye, Saul E. Collazo Jr her siblings: Ramona Jesus Garcia, Enrique Leonor Rosas, Albina Benavidez, Rosa Carlos De Leon, Juan Blasa Rosas, and Gonzalo Magdalena Mollie Rosas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 and continue through 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2308 East Tyler Street. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Estellas son, Valentin Jr. her brothers, Enrique, Juan and Gonzalo Rosas together with her nephews, Carlos De Leon Jr., Robert and Eric Herrera, and Ubaldo Martinez III are honored to be serving as her pallbearers. Saul E. Collazo, Saul E. Collazo Jr., and Enrique Rosas are will serve as honorary pallbearers.
