Estella Janelle Fernandez, 50, a beautiful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend made her journey home to be with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 11, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones.
Estella Janelle was a very active member of the Iglesia Metodista Unida. She was the President of Mujeres Metodistas Unidas. She also served as a District and Conference Officer. Estella was a beautiful and pleasant church greeter.
Estella was also a Girl Scout Leader for two years and a Sunday school teacher. Estella was very proud of being on the Deans List at Texas Southmost College.
Estella was a faithful and dedicated employee with the BISD working as a data entry clerk at Homer Hanna High School from April 1983 through 1988 and then at Simon Rivera High School from 1988 through Aug. 2011. She really enjoyed her work and her companions very much.
Estella loved to read books, listen to music, walk on the beach, having dinner with friends, and traveling. She loved spending time with family and friends. Estella was greatly loved and will be profoundly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Estella was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Santiago Snchez Sr. and Olivia M. Horn and her maternal grandparents, Miguel Garca Sr. and Maria Ciria Garca.
Estella Janelle is survived by her daughter, Janelle Fernandez her parents, Santiago M. Snchez Jr. and Emma Yolanda G. Snchez her siblings: Giana Snchez, Emily Rose Vasquez, Susana Snchez, and Gabriel Melinda Snchez. Estella will also be missed by her uncle, Miguel Garca Jr. and her aunt, Elvia Garca her nieces, Amanda R. Vasquez and Danielle R. Snchez and her nephews: Robert V. Vasquez, Eric Vasquez, Derrick R. Rodriguez, Joseph S. Vasquez, Fabian M. Snchez, and Gabriel Matthew Snchez Jr. and many more nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 in the West Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Friday evening. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Iglesia Metodista Unida El Buen Pastor, 435 Boca Chica Blvd.
Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park. Gabriel Sanchez, Robert V. Vasquez, Eric Vasquez, Manuel Mendoza, Robert Manjarrez, Cesar Manjarrez, Jose Arguelles, and Raheem Travis are honored to be serving as Estellas pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be: Miguel Garcia Jr., Leo Zuniga, and Jaime Castillo.
