Estella R. Munoz

Estella R. Munoz, 82, of Brownsville, beloved, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on April 24, 2008 at Valley Regional Medical Center.

Estella was born in Laredo, Texas to Andres and Feliciana Barbosa Ramos. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe where she was an active member of the Club Guadalupano and the Altar Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Bishop Adolph Marx Court 1988 and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loyal and dedicated employee with Philen Shipping Co. where she worked for many years until her retirement. Estela was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be dearly missed all by all those fortunate to have known her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mariano Muoz; a son, Michael Angelo Muoz; and by an aunt, Ignacia Barbosa.

Left behind to eternally treasure her memory are her children, Mark Anthony Margaret Muoz, Robert Lewis Judy Muoz, Margaret Daniel Danny Coronado, Melissa George Muoz-Thorson, and Gloria Barbosa Alejo Longoria; her brother, Guillermo Ramos; her grandchildren, Stephanie and Katherine Muoz, Philip and Danielle Coronado, Erica and Deniz Gutierrez, Kevin Alejo and Sean Alejo Longoria, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 12 noon, Sunday, April 27, 2008 and continue through 9 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7p.m., in the East chapel of Darling-Mouser. The Mass of Christian Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 28, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with burial to follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.

Daniel Coronado, Alejo Longoria, Johnny Muoz, George Thorson, Philip Coronado, and Edward Muoz are honored to be serving as pallbearers for Mrs. Munoz. Honorary pallbearers will be Sean Longoria and Kevin Longoria.
