Ester Gomez Polanco

Ester G. Polanco, 85, our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 16, 2015, at her residence in Elgin, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

Ester who was born in La Rosita, Texas was a resident of the Villa Cavazos community. She moved to Elgin to be closer to her daughter. Ester was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.

Ester was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe J. Polanco; a grandson, Eddie Polanco; and her eight siblings: Calixto Gomez, Matilde Leal, Estela Treviño, Clara McDonald, Amelia Ruiz, Emilia Gomez, and Santos Gomez.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her son, Joe A. Polanco and his wife Yolisma; her daughter, Maria Edna Polanco and her wife Jo Huerta; 11 grandchildren: Dylan Polanco and his wife Jen, Sasha Polanco, William Torres and his wife Melanie, Michael Torres and his wife Erika, Samantha Torres, Fras Medina and his wife Vivian, Rodrigo Medina and his wife Elizabeth, Crystal Chavarria and her husband Gustavo, Jacob Lozano, and Candace Teran; 20 great-grandchildren with one on the way along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended members of the family.

Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2015 and continue through 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015 in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Family members are honored to be serving as Ester's pallbearers.
