Everardo "Abe" Rodriguez

Mr. Everado Abe Rodriguez, 63, our beloved brother, brotherinlaw, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Friday, July 06, 2012 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville.

A native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, Abe graduated from St. Josephs Academy in 1966. He then attended TSC in Brownsville and then Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas. He worked for the Brownsville Credit Bureau for twelve years and then went to work for Dillards in their credit department for the next 20 years.

A devout Catholic, he was a longtime parishioner at St. Josephs Catholic Church but attended Mass regularly at Immaculate Conception Cathedral. In his spare time, Abe loved to collect all kinds of sports cards, playing golf, fishing, drawing and animals.

Abe was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those fortunate to have known him.

Abe was preceded in death by his parents, Luis H. and Virginia Rodriguez.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his siblings: Jose Luis Linda Rodriguez, Carlos E. Cynthia Rodriguez, and Teresa R. Eduardo Nuez six nieces, two nephews, four grandnephews, and one grandniece in addition to other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and continue through 9 p.m. in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser on Monday, July 9, 2012, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday evening at DarlingMouser. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 555 West St. Francis St. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Abes brothers, Jose Luis and Carlos E. Rodriguez, his nephew, Nicholas D. Rodriguez along with Reynaldo Guillen, Arturo Cano, and Eric Waite are honored to be serving as Abes pallbearers. Eduardo Nuez, Arturo Rodriguez, Luis Rodriguez, Hector Loya, and Lt. Victor A. Rodriguez will serve as honorary pallbearers.
