Everett Shands Caskey born 09 Nov 1964 died today 30 July 2011 after a fierce and heroic battle to overcome the cancer which took his life so quickly.
Everett is survived by his partner of 16 years, Gene Street, his brother Wesley Shelley Caskey, his step siblings, Sarah Jason Bodner, Mitchell Jessica Graff, niece Maya Caskey, nephew Jonas Graff, his aunts Mary Jane Shands and Kay Caskey Patterson, cousins and grand cousins, his mother Sondra Shands and his step father Charles Graff,
Everett is predeceased by his brother Carlton Caskey, his father Jim Caskey, his uncle John Shands and his grandparents.
An entertainer for many years Everett had a voice that brought people to their feet and tears to their eyes. His talent was truly amazing. An unbelievable outpouring of prayers, love and concern have gone out to Everett during his illness. His cousin Allison Shands Acosta has faithfully and with love monitored a site called Caring Bridge where friends, family and loved ones have posted prayers, messages and memories for Everett.
A Memorial Service with date and time to be announced at a later date, will be held at Long Creek Cemetery between Mesquite and Forney Texas where his ashes will be interred beside his brother Carlton.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, 06 August 2011 at the Church of the Advent Episcopal, 104 W. Elizabeth Street, Brownsville, TX 78520.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Everetts name may be made to the American Cancer SocietyRio Grande Valley Division, 5214 S. McColl, Edinburg, TX 78539 or to the donors favorite charity.
