Everett Ray Pinkerton, 88, of Brownsville, passed away at Valley Regional Hospital in Brownsville, Texas on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, after a courageous battle with non-hodgkins lymphoma.
He was one of Jehovahs Witnesses, and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses West Congregation, in Brownsville, Texas. Our beloved one has departed for now, but soon we will be joined together again in Jehovah Gods Eternal Kingdom. What a glorious day that will be
Everett Ray Pinkerton was born in Brownsville, Texas on March 16, 1921. When he was two years old, his family moved to Harlingen, Texas, where he grew up. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1943, and served for 3 12 years, during WWII. He then carried on the Pinkerton Memorials Legacy in 1948, in Brownsville, Texas, which was originally started by his Father, Ernest Homer Pinkerton, in 1919.
Mr. Pinkerton received his Associate of Arts Degree in May, 1949, from Texas Southmost College, formerly Brownsville Junior College, after leaving the U. S. Navy.
Everett Pinkerton was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was a humble man who never met a stranger, and was loved by all who knew him, because of his compassionate, kind and gentle way. In his earlier years, he was an avid fisherman golfer.
He is survived by his children; one daughter, Connie Sue Pinkerton-Lopez Hector of Brownsville, two sons, William R. Pinkerton Patricia of San BenitoLos Fresnos Paul R. Pinkerton of Houston, one stepson, Carlos Torrez, Jr. of Houston, one sister, Jane D. Haney of Brownsville, and grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Mr. Pinkerton was preceded in death by his wife, Connie C. Pinkerton on Thursday, November 8, 2001, his parents, Ernest H. Pinkerton Anita G. Pinkerton, and a brother, Ernest Revel Pinkerton.
Visitation will be held in the West Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home from 1 to 9 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2009.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2009 in the East Chapel of Darling Mouser Funeral Home, with Brother Darrell Nutt, officiating. Burial will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Pallbearers will be Herman Otis Powers, Jr., Darrell Powers, Tyrone Powers, David Miller, Greg Miller, and Juan Jose Gallegos.
Mr. Pinkertons Family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who were involved in his care, for their dedication and devotion, and the many family members and friends, for all of their love, support, and prayers.
