Felipa V. Garcia

Felipa V. Garcia, age 94; passed away peacefully on January 15th, 2019, at her home surrounded by loving family. She was born May 14, 1924 in Brownsville, Tx. She attended Brownsville High School and Brownsville Junior College. In 1943 she married Oscar Garcia Arguelles + from Matamoros, and both raised a beautiful family. Mama Fily was a devout Catholic and a true Christian as evidenced by her exemplary life driven by her loving heart full of humanity and kindness. She loved to sing and cook and helped many children by tutoring English at home.

Mama Fily is preceded in death by her loving husband Oscar García Arguelles, parents, Maria Guadalupe and Cipriano Salazar, her sons: Oscar, and Arnoldo V. Garcia and her brother Ambrosio Vidrio.

Left to treasure her loving memory are her children Leonardo V. Garcia ( Lupita+) Chacha Wilson, Martha Barbara ( Ruben) Kopara and Sylvia ( John) Patriarca, her daughters in law Vica and Irma many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank The Heart Institute, and it's staff, especially Dr. Kalim Habet and Louis Boling ; Abundant Life Home Health Care and staff; Greater Valley Hospice Alliance and staff; in addition to her caring providers and givers.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will resume at 6:00 p.m. and will continue until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 16, 2019 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary service at 7 p.m. in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home in Brownsville, TX. The funeral mass celebration will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Cathedral Catholic Church. All services will conclude after the mass.
