The Lord greeted our father, Fernando Coronado, Monday evening. His enthusiasm for the Lord never wavered throughout his life.
After serving in the Phillipine Islands during WWII and marrying his love and support, Margaret Garcia, he went off to attend Abilene Christian to complete a degree.
Before retirement, he started the church work in Sinton and Weslaco, Texas. Dad brought his family to Brownsville to help his ailing parents, where he would teach and become an assistant principal at Resaca and Del Castillo Elementary. Toward the end of his life, he was the preacher for Iglesia de Cristo on Mildred Street. He also devoted his time as a Boy Scout Troop leader to underprivileged children.
His family will always remember his saying, Remember your God.
Mr. Coronado was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret his parents, Francisco and Modesta Coronado his brothers, Fermin and Frank Coronado and his sisters, Modesta Rodriguez, Ruperta Galvan, Pancha Villegas, and Carolina Majorga.
He is survived by his children, Robert, Roy, Ron, Richard Coronado, Roxanne Saco, Nelda Rogers and Alma Martinez.
