Florencia M. Sanchez

BROWNSVILLE, TX. - With great sadness in our hearts, we are announcing the loss of Florencia M. Sanchez, eighty-nine, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, the 21st of November 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

“Flor”, as she was affectionately known to all by, was born in Caldwell, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Brownsville. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed watching cartoons with the kids as well as watching them grow up. A devout Catholic, Flor was a longtime parishioner of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

Preceding Flor in death was her loving and devoted husband of sixty-five years, Horacio P. Sanchez; her parents, Juanito and Juanita Moya; and her siblings Matilde Govea, Eloisa Padilla, and Victor Moya.

Flor was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.

Survivors include her twelve children: Zoila (Abran) Escobedo, Miguel (Bernardina) Sanchez, Pedro (Beatriz) Sanchez, Horacio Sanchez Jr., Rosario Sanchez, Victor (Diana) Sanchez, Juanita (Richard Jordan) Sanchez, Emilio (Sylvia) Sanchez, Raul Sanchez, Virginia Sanchez, Rafael (Lynn) Sanchez, and Dolores (Javier) Orive; her siblings Manuel Moya, Maria Elena Lopez, and Jose Moya; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, the 26th of November 2022 between the hours of one o’clock in the afternoon and nine o’clock at night within the East Chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. A Chapel Service will be held at 5:45 P.M. and the recitation of the holy rosary will follow at six o'clock in the evening. All services will conclude Saturday night. Cremation will follow. The chapel service and rosary will be livestreamed and recorded for viewing. This video may be accessed by clicking here.
