Frances Adrienne Sokat

Frances Adrienne Sokat, 87, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister entered into the glory of her eternal life on January 1, 2008 at Golden Palms Retirement Center in Harlingen, Texas. She will be dearly missed by all those fortunate to have known her.

Frances, a native of Brownsville, was a graduate of Brownsville High School and Brownsville Junior College.

She was the daughter of Francis and Anna Barnes who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frederick W. Sokat.

Left behind to eternally treasure her memory are her children; Kathleen F. Sokat from Toms River, New Jersey, Frederick W. Sokat III from Arizona, and Thomas E. Sokat and his wife Susan and their daughter Tracy from Danville, CA; and her sister, Audrey B. Pruden from Brownsville, TX. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008 prior to an 11 oclock chapel service at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, it was Frances wish that memorial gifts in her name be made to her church, St. Albans Episcopal Church, 1417 E. Austin, Harlingen, TX 78550.
