Mrs. Gertrudis P. Davila, 91, our beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, June 17, 2013, at Ebony Lake Heatlhcare Center surrounded by her loving family.
Gertrudis, a native of Mexico, had been a longtime resident of Brownsville. She worked for and was retired from the BISD after working for fifteen years with the Food Service Department.
A devout Catholic, Gertrudis was a longtime parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church. Gertrudis was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by her family those fortunate to have known her.
Gertrudis was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Luis Davila.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her children: Agustin Gloria Davila, Rolando Leticia Davila, Lu Alona Davila, and David Norma Davila nine grandchildren twelve greatgrandchildren two sisters, Albertina Rosas and Paula Garza and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin today, Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m. in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. this evening. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 2255 Southmost Road, Brownsville, Texas. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Gertrudis four sons: Agustin, Rolando, Lu, and David along with Armando Garcia, Francisco Sifuentes, and Miguel Sifuentes Jr. are honored to be serving as her pallbearers.
