Gilberto Garza, 75, was welcomed into our Lords Kingdom on Friday, October 2, 2009. He was born in Laredo, Texas and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Bremerton during the Korean Conflict. He was a federal employee, retiring from the General Services Administration Agency after 40 years of service. He received numerous awards and citations during his career. He was always grateful for the opportunity to serve our country in any capacity.
He is survived by his wife, Maria de los Angeles Angie, his daughter, Rebecca, son-in-law, Allen Rodriguez, grandson, Miguel Mateo Cimadevilla, granddaughter, Cristina Cimadevilla of Tucson, Arizona, his sisters, Consuelo Pablo Gallego of Laredo, TX, his brothers, Jose Violeta Garza of San Antonio, TX and Dr. Faustino Adela Garza of Brownsville, TX, sister-in-law, Lucha Benavides and his loving care-giver and friend, Rafaela Santamaria, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will begin Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 6p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7p.m., in the Chapel of Darling-Mouser. Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:30a.m., Monday, October 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. All services will conclude at the church.

Our gratitude admiration to the awesome team work of Heart of the Valley Hospice and Eldercare for the dignity and love with which they treat the terminally ill.
