Mr. Gilberto Ochoa, 89, our beloved father, grandfather,brother, uncle, and friend entered into the glory of his eternal life on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Solara Hospital of Brownsville surrounded by his loving family.
Gilberto was a loving and devoted husband and father who taught his children how to be loving, caring, and generous with both family and friends. Gilberto was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by those fortunate to have known him.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, veteran of WW II US Army, Lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and retired in 1989 from the U.S. Post Office.
Gilberto was preceded in death by his parents, Hilario Ochoa and Consuelo Solis Ochoa wife Zoila H. Ochoa Brothers Ovidio Ochoa and Rodolfo Ochoa.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his sons Hilario Alicia Ochoa, Gilbert A. Ochoa, and David Elizabeth Ochoa grandchildren Angela Ochoa of Lawrence,KS, Sabrina Ochoa of Brownsville, AudreyRudy Gonzalez of San Antonio,TX , Hilario Ochoa and Joseph Ochoa both of Tucson, AZ and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 1pm on January 21, 2013 and continue through 9:00 p.m. with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 7 p.m. in the evening in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be at 10am on Tuesday January 22, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens. Military Honors to be conducted by VFW Funeral Detail.
Rudy Gonzalez, Roy Ramirez, Randy Ramirez, Francisco Guardado, Ovidio Ochoa, and Hilario Ochoa are honored to be serving as Gilbertos pallbearers.
