Gladys E. Aznar, 87, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.
Gladys, a native of Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, had been a longtime resident of Brownsville. Gladys touched the lives of countless students during her 45 years as a teacher with the BISD. A devout Catholic, Gladys was a faithful parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Gladys was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Luisa Carrillo Mendez; her father, Alejandro Aznar Gutierrez; a brother, Hernani Felipe Aznar Carrillo; and a nephew, Jose Alejandro Aznar Ruiz.
Gladys is survived by her sisters: Beatriz Aznar Martinez and Fanny Margarita Cotaya Carrillo; a nephew, Hernani (Maria Eugenia) Aznar Ruiz; two great-nephews: Alejandro III Aznar Garza and Hernani IV Aznar Navarrete; and two cousins, Yolanda Aznar Loubert and Ethel Carrillo Aznar along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. today, Friday, July 22nd and continue through 9:00 p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home, East Chapel. We ask that everyone meet at St. Mary's as there will be no procession. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1944 Barnard Road. All Services will conclude after the Mass and in accordance with Gladys' wishes she will be transferred to Cuidad Victoria for burial.
