Gladys Milagros Cummins, 86, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Sunshine Haven Hospice Facility in Olmito, Texas.
Gladys, a native of Puerto Rico, had been a resident of Rancho Viejo since 1988 when she and her husband Bobby moved here to enjoy their retirement years. Gladys was a member of the Pan American Round Table I, P.E.O., Rancho Viejo Garden Club, the Rancho Viejo Ladies Golf Association, and the Rancho Viejo Book Club.
A devout Catholic, Gladys was a faithful parishioner of Our Heaven Father Catholic Church in Olmito, Texas. Gladys was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family but by those fortunate to have known her.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her beloved husband of 63 years, Bobby Dean Cummins two sons: Dean R. and his wife Roshan and John R. and his wife Jeanne Cummins the four grandchildren that were the apple of her eye, Mary Richard Bowman Scott, Nan Cummins, Rob Cummins, and Talah Cummins and two greatgrandchildren, Henry and Lucy Scott. Gladys will also be dearly missed by the one sibling that survives her, her sister, Ana R. Bob Brink Whalen and numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and a host of friends.
In accordance with Gladys wishes she has been cremated. A Memorial Mass celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 24, 2013, at Our Heavenly Father Catholic Church, 9178 Tomas Cortez Jr. Street in Olmito, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Gladys name may be made to Sunshine Haven Hospice Facility, P.O. box 4478, Brownsville, Texas 78523.
