Gloria Oliveira Aguilar, 74, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Sunday, December 01, 2013, at Sunshine Haven Hospice Care in Olmito, Texas surrounded by her loving family.
Gloria, a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, touched the lives of many in our community as a teacher with the BISD that spanned 30 years all of them at J. T. Canales. Gloria was a great mother and friend. Gloria retired from teaching to care first for her husband and daughter and then her mother. Gloria got to be her grandchildrens babysitter before her illness forced her into final retirement.
Gloria was also very involved with BARSEA and was a strong and dedicated advocate for retired teachers. Gloria was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate to have known her.
Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Esequiel Aguilar a daughter, Leticia Aguilar her parents, Ernesto and Andrea Oliveira and a brother, Albert Oliveria.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her is her son, Ezequiel Zeke Alice Aguilar Jr. two brothers, Ernesto Oliveira and Celestino Lupita Oliveira the grandchildren that were the apple of her eye: Aria K. Aguilar, Allison R. Pineda, and Anthony Aguilar, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 12 Noon and continue through 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013 in the East Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home with the recitation of the holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013 at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Drive. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
