Gloria Reyes Garcia

Gloria Reyes Garcia, 76, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend entered into glory of her eternal life on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville. She was well known in downtown Brownsville due to her 48 years of service as the General Manager for La Moda Inc. and Feder's Fine Fabrics. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Gloria was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family and friends but by all those fortunate enough to have known her.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Nazaria M. and Miguel Reyes Sr., and 2 brothers: Miguel Reyes and Julio Alatorre.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of Gloria is her husband of 55 years: Eugenio Andres Garcia; her children: Eugenio Andres (Elva) Garcia Jr., Arthur (Lori) Garcia, and Sonia Joann Garcia (Michael) Flores; the 5 grandchildren that were the apple of her eye: Beau Michael Garcia, Sidney Arianna Garcia, Mason Andrew Garcia, Victoria Michelle Flores, and Xavier Miguel Flores; a sister, Martina R. (Rosario Jose) Lopez; 2 brothers, Herbert (Rosario) Garcia and Ted (Alicia) Alatorre. She will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. and continue through 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 03, 2017, in the East Chapel at Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Darling-Mouser. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 04, 2017, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1914 Barnard Rd. Brownsville. Committal services will follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
