Gloria Yzaguirre

Gloria Yzaguirre, 75, our beloved sister, aunt, and friend entered into the glory of her eternal life on Monday, November 11, at her residence in Brownsville, Texas surrounded by her loving family.

Gloria, a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, was a graduate of both Incarnate Word Academy and Villa Maria High School. After graduating from Villa Maria, Gloria worked for several law firms before settling in as the Operations Manager with the Hemphill Law Firm., a position that she held for a number of years.

Gloria left Brownsville and moved to Anchorage, Alaska after her marriage to Joe A. Marks, Jr. and together they owned and operated the Engineering Firm of Marenco Inc. While she lived in Alaska, Gloria obtained her BA in May of 1992 from Alaska Pacific University. Gloria was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all her family and those fortunate to have known her.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents: Albina Davila and Guadalupe Yzaguirre a sister Mary Yzaguirre Valdez two brothers, Antonio and Lupe Yzaguirre and her former husband, Joe A. Marks Jr.

Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of her are her sister, Eva Yzaguirre two brothers, Roberto and his wife Rosa and Eduardo and his wife Carmen Yzaguirre and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 500 p.m. and continue through 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013, with the recitation of the holy rosary scheduled for 6:00 p.m. in the West Chapel at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 555 W. St. Francis St. Committal services will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Tony Yzaguirre Jr., Paul Hemphill, Lionel Rosales, Frank Avelar, Jean Webb, and Noe Charles, are honored to be serving as Glorias pallbearers. Lourdes Mardis, Yolanda Webb, Diana Rosales, Lourdes Simmons, Evangelina Trevio, and Estella de la Paz will serve as honorary pallbearers.
