Guadalupe "Lupita" M Cornejo

Guadalupe Lupita M. Cornejo, 87, our beloved mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, and sister entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville surrounded by her loving family.

Lupitas passion in life was enjoying the company of her family and friends. She was well known for her love of gardening. Her green thumb produced the most beautiful flowers and fruit trees.

Lupita enjoyed the game of Chalupa and Bingo. She enjoyed daily strolls through her neighborhood and the streets of her beloved Brownsville. Lupita loved going to dance and Zumba classes at Ringgold Park. She was a strong woman who fiercely and valiantly fought her battle with cancer.

Lupita was a lifelong Catholic and member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church since its inception in 1961. Lupita was fortunate enough to have been able to visit the Vatican and the Holy Land in Israel and the memories of those trips brought her immense joy.

Lupita was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed not only by her family but by all those fortunate to have known her.

Lupita was preceded in death by her husband, Pablo Cornejo her parents, a brother, Tio Pete Morales and her sister, Hermelinda Morales.

Lupita is survived by her children: Juan Pablo Frances Cornejo, Leonor Leo Fernando Castro, David Lupita Cornejo, and Elia Leo Lopez her grandchildren: Brenda, Felix, David Terry Jr., Anthony Tony Mayra, Roger, Andy Lisa, Christy Andy, Johnny Melinda, Michael, Scott, Jenny, Lucy, and Leo.
