Guadalupe C. Penland, 89, of Brownsville, entered into eternal rest on January 18, 2009 at Valley Regional Medical Center.
Guadalupe was born in Brownsville, to one of Brownsvilles Pioneer Families Colunga Buses Jose and Maria Colunga.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Penland. Left behind to eternally treasure her memory are her son, Jack C. Catalina Penland, a granddaughter, Jacqueline Fabian Ramirez Penland both of Brownsville, a sister, Maria Gonzalez of San Antonio, 5 nieces, Lydia Jose A. Rincon, Maria Elena Murphy Jeffries both of Brownsville, Olga Homero Rivera of San Antonio, Irma Perez of Chicago and Nelda Navarro of Houston, a cousin, Catalina Sanchez, and numerous other relatives.
Visitation will begin Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 6p.m., with the recitation of the holy rosary to be held at 7p.m., in the chapel of Darling-Mouser Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, January 22, at 10a.m., at St. Marys Catholic Church with burial to follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
