Guillermina "Minnie" Carral Flores

Mrs. Guillermina Carral Flores, 92, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Spanish Meadows Nursing Home in Brownsville, Texas. Minnie as she was affectionately known to all will be dearly missed by all who knew her and have been a part of her life.

Minnie was a native and lifetime resident of Brownsville, having been born here in January of 1920 to Manuel and Estefana Carral. She graduated from Villa Maria High School in 1937. Minnie worded as a paraprofessional for the BISD for over sixteen years. She also taught English classes at Texas Southmost College. Music was her passion and she loved playing the piano. She became a selftaught organist and served as the church organist at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. She played for over 350 services which included weddings, quinceaeras, and funeral services in Brownsville and the surrounding areas. Minnie was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Bishop Aldoph Marx 1988 for over 40 years.

Minnie is preceded in death by her parents and eight siblings.

Minnie is survived by her two sons: A. Roland Flores and his wife Elizabeth of Mountainside, NJ and Robert Flores of Monterey, CA a daughter, Diana Gonzales and her husband Richard of Houston, TX a brother, Michael A. Carral and his wife Mari two grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren, one greatgreatgranddaughter, two nephews, and one niece.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012, at DarlingMouser Funeral Home. We ask that everyone meet at Immaculate Conception Cathedral for the Funeral Mass which will be held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, May 8, 2012. The interment of her cremated remains will follow at Brownsville City Cemetery.

A. Roland Flores, Louis Robert Flores, Richard Gonzales, Richard T. Gonzales, Tom P. Champion, Manuel H. Saenz, Frank Gonzales, and Eusebio Ortiz will serve as honorary pallbearers.
